Magazine Death

Magazine Death

Maybe this would be more aptly titled "Death Magazine."  Last week the snail mail brought a glossy four color pitch for a new magazine: obit: revealing lives.

Losing and Winning

Losing and Winning

Election Day this year resulted in a major surprise: it seems that all my votes went to winners.  There's a local (county
not village or town) race or two about which I remain unsure, but for
the most part, I cast my vote with the majority this time.  Wow,
that's unusual.

Destiny and The Blog

Destiny & The Blog

A friend with a sharp eye noticed something, made an observation.
Here's what he said:  "You've mentioned a number of things you
might blog about.  But since Destiny died, you barely seem to blog
about any of those."  It is true.  Is it cause &
effect?  I don't know.  But the timing and the observation
are spot on.

Kudos to my Canadian friend "Chomedian Marilyn" for sending this
link.  Politics makes strange bedfellows, as the saying goes.

Check out this romantic Washington tale while the link remains viable.

Tigers in Five

Tigers in Five

When the Tigers slayed the Yankees (boo hoo) in the ALDS they reclaimed
their position as this year's Team Of Destiny.  Then they made
tidy business of sweeping the A's out of the way in the ALCS.  Jim
Leyland is among the game's very best managers.  He knows how to
bring out the best in his players, as well as being a master
strategist.  They had their one and only slump when the season was
in the final stages.  When it counted more than ever, they rose to
the occasion.

The Lonely Blog

The Lonely Blog

It is a constant source of wonder to me, often of awe, that so many bloggers are able to spend as much time as they do, composing and posting their entries.  Daily entries, sometimes numerous entries per day, truly amazing.  Are they speed-bloggers, writers who are able to knock out a comlpete and edited post at the speed of light?  Are they gifted with the capacity to simply sit at their keyboards and dash off a worthy post?
