KUDOS TO DAVE WINER

BloggerCon II was a wonderful event. Good sessions, much participation, prepared session leaders, good graphic screens as well as an IRC stream available for reference throughout.

The Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law, since granting a Fellowship to Dave Winer, has emerged as the spiritual and intellectual capitol of the blog world.

BloggerCon II, Here I Come!

Hereís the plan: by some miracle, complete Friday work and be able to head out the door by Noon. Go to the oil change place and give the car a little pick-me-up before the trip.

Drive up to Cambridge taking a sort of out-of-the-way back route. Avoid I-95 and other such crowded arteries.

Arrive at friendsí house in Arlington sometime in the evening. Have nice dinner with friends. Say tata to them as they leave to attend a concert in Boston.

FLYING PIGS ARE BLOWING IN THE WIND

THIS JUST IN: DYLAN IS SHILLIN'? THEN PIGS MUST BE FLYING

It seemed a mistake, at first. No, that couldnít be right. Was that him? In a commercial? A Victoriaís Secret commercial, no less? Yes, it is true. It was him.

SUNDAY MORNING TV OBSERVATION

SUNDAY MORNING TV OBSERVATION

This morning, while watching either Meet The Press or Ebert and that other guy, I saw the ad for Zoloft. Yeah, Zoloft, the anti-depressant and panic-attack suppressor. In the ad there is a cartoon-like egg-looking sort of character, the mood of which should impress upon viewers that this is a good mood psychotropic drug for them to take. Or, better put, for them to ask for their doctors to prescribe for them.

Little Blog Blurbs

Little Blog Blurbs

Reading blogs is a pastime, sometimes an addictive one. There are all sorts of blogs -- some newsy, some very personal, some exclusively devoted to a single topic, some very political, some just there as though a personal diary on line - - - all types.

Some bloggers post what seems like nothing more than mini blurbs, with links to the stories that have caught their eye. Some do much the same, while also adding comments or observation.

At times I am envious of those capable of posting the short little blurb-length blogs.

GOP TACTICS: INFERENCE, INTIMIDATION, AND LIES

GOP TACTICS: INFERENCE, INTIMIDATION, AND LIES

Dubya's people are so pleased with the reaction to their lies over the WMDs that they've decided to continue down this path.

DEFINITIVE SUPER PRIMARY, BATMAN!

HOLY DEFINITIVE SUPER PRIMARY, BATMAN!

Some people read the New York Times. Others look to the Washington Post. For yet others, there is CNN, and the online news presence of ABC, NBC, CBS, and even that Right-Wing Reactionary machine known as FOX news. They distort, we be snide.

In the mornings I watch the Today Show for about ten or twenty minutes, usually enough time to see the National News report and the five minute minicast that precedes it.

WHAT NEXT?

What Next?

Scarlet Letters? Branding? Gold Stars?

Dubya just canít leave bad enough alone. Bad enough the economy is in the shitter. Bad enough there are fewer employed Americans now than when Dubya took office.

Bad enough there is a health-care and coverage crisis in this country.

Bad enough he and Cheney-Burton (et al) are being exposed for throwing a war on their own behalf and betterment, against a country powerless to sufficiently defend itself.
