1460 and Counting

1460 and Counting

Today marks the beginning of the end. The end of having a Rhodes scholar in the White House. The end of the two-term Clinton-Gore stewardship of the White House.

Actually, maybe yesterday was the beginning of the end, and today is the beginning of the horror. Another Bush at the helm. And Cheney, right behind him. Cheney, who hadn't voted in years, who was a miserable, failiure as a corporate exec, and who rode his past position(s) into high-paying salary glory, while ruining companies and putting the financial lives of those companies' workers in jeopardy.

Let's try to find a bright side. Hmmm.

Hang on, I'm thinking. Reading this you can't really determine the time lag between sentences, can you. Hmmm. ........... Still thinking.

Okay, I came up with something. Four years of 365 days plus one for a leap year equals 1461. So there's just 1460 days left of this nightmare. Let us not abandon hope.

And I don't mean Hope, Arkansas.

Shrub Watch

The watch has already begun. There are a few good blogs and sites out there, well worth taking a look-see, to follow the progress of the man chosen by five Supreme Court Justices to occupy the White House. Here's a partial list. Please send suggestions, additions and updates.

Is This Any Way To Run A Country?

The Domain name says it all on this one.

We knew there would be such puns. They're here already. What's rather ironic is the cool, serious criteria laid out for joining!

Too bad they don't update this one more often.

This administration makes sites like this a must!

Last on the list so far, but probably the best (for laughs, anyway -- check that quote crawl at the bottom!) is this one.

Inaugural Questions

Is Ricky Martin a Republican? And isn't he supposed to be gay, and doesn't that fly in the face of Bush?
Isn't it a curious coincidence that George Magazine folds as Little George takes office?
When is the last time a Pro-Choice person tried to convince an anti-choice person that they should go get an abortion, since that's how they feel, and what they deeply believe, and they must surely be right on this issue?
