Post-BloggerCon Observations
My friend and fellow blogger Keith Povall of The UK (with a recently updated post no less, go read it!) was astounded that I would spend part of a weekend attending a conference on blogs, or blogging. He sent me an e-mail questioning the very concept or purpose of a Blogger Conference.
Dean,
I read your blog.
WOW! and WHEW!
Short update: Spent all of Sunday at BloggerCon2003. WOW! Kudos to Dave Winer and Wendy Koslow (et al) for putting on an excellent conference.
As has been documented hereabouts, left NY late in the afternoon Saturday, spend the night with friends in Providence, then arrived in Cambridge Sunday at the crack of dawn.
Morning: attended the "General BOF" session.
Quick Saturday Night Update
First leg of the trip successful, am in Providence, RI. Watched the last 7 innings of the Red Sox game, saw them actually finally score a second run and win.
Listened to much of the afternoon Yankee game on the drive up, heard them win.
The good folks at Enerprise upgraded me to a nicer, bigger vehicle. I will be arriving tomorrow in a HUGE Ford Windstar van. So if anyone needs a ride back to NY Sunday evening, find me at BloggerCon, I have PLENTY OF ROOM in this car.
See you in a few hours!

The Hype on Links
In yesterday's entry the discussion of links has no mention of the different manners and methods of linking available to bloggers, as well as other electronic web-accessible pointers. Links can exist in distributed documents (e-mail, FTP, attachments). Links can be to pictures, to stored documents, to sites, to anchor-linked specific text loci in any number of linked items.
Acts of Blogress
There will be audio blogging and some video storage and perhaps streamage at BloggerCon this weekend. Would a program about this meeting qualify as a Blogumentary? I thought Iíd coined that term, even listed it on the Blogicon.
Monday, Monday
It is with great pleasure that I can say that this has been the most productive Monday, more so than any in recent memory. Loose ends getting neatly tied up, progress made on a variety of projects, and clarity coming into focus on some of those fuzzy areas. The ones that can be so troublesome, becuase the fuzziness, the lack of clarity, can sometimes obscure the core issue.
I also did a few good deeds, and have some more to complete over the next day or so.
Endings of The Season
It being a time of religious holiday observation, Susan and I celebrated a specific religious ritual at the Shrine of our choice.
Today we attended the final home game, and the final game of the season at Yankee Stadium.
Here's a question for you: In Hip Hop Heimishe Households, do they celebrate with Apples & Homey?
A New Year
Rosh Hashanah is here yet again. For Jews all over the planet, this means a new year. Actually, to be more specific, it celebrates the creation of the world. Celebrated annually, it has come to be called the new year holiday. Actually, if it were known as Creation Day, that would be more apt. Although, to be technical, it is actually supposed to celebrate the 6th day of the week-long creation process.
This marks the beginning of the High Holy Days. These, along with Passover, represent the holiest of days in the Jewish calendar.
