TURKEY RECAP & A LOOK AHEAD



In the blog entry
preceding this one I mentioned that getting into the Thanksgiving
spirit was a tough go this year.  Even the initiative to do the
basic shopping for the meal came pretty late.  It would be safe to
say that until just about completing that blog post, I'd had almost no
sense of Thanksgiving spirit this year.



On Wednesday evening things began to change.

It took longer than usual this year.  I
had almost no sense of holiday spirit, or any sort of anticipation or
eagerness to do Thanskgiving.  Usually I love to do the cooking,
the prep work, and get pretty excited in advance of Turkey Thursday.

Speaking on the phone with a friend this afternoon, I made a
prediction. A political one.  Right here, right now, November of
2004, you heard it first.  From me.  Remember this.  That's what I said. 



Nope, he said in response, it isn't official yet.  Not until you blog it.

No need to conduct a post mortem.  Here's the bottom line: Karl Rove's strategic planning, his tactics and manipulation, did the job.  Kerry and the Democrats in charge of this run never brought in the sharks, so they ran a lesser campaign.  And lost.

 

Where was Carville?  On CNN, commentating from the outside looking in, not in the Democrats' war room.  Where were the Democ
