Some other Weblogs of note

My son Elias started his own weblog! My blog is called DeanLand. What's his called? You guessed it: EliasLand. Check it out: http://EliasLand.weblogs.com

Anyone who knows me knows baseball is close to my heart. And that I am a fervent Yankees fan. Through thick and thin, even those horrid years in the mid and late 1960's, I was there, cheering them on. Recently it has become wonderful, what with all the Championships. There's always some baseball news, and I generally have something to say about it. If you like baseball, this could be a fun read for you: http://DeanOnBaseball.weblogs.com

My friend and "do a weblog, already" inspiration Doc Searls has the weblog of all weblogs. Take a look. No doubt you'll bookmark it. Doc is a co-author of The ClueTrain Manifesto. It began as a manifesto on the web, and morphed into a book.

Buy that book. Read it. Take it to heart.

Doc is a witty and intelligent guy. Like yours truly, he was in the radio business at one time. Also like yours truly, his early radio years were in the Raleigh-Durham area. Doc worked at a station with the call letters "WDBS." I recall enjoying that station, often suggesting to my friends that we tune it in, to "do some Deebs." Ah, the good old days.

If you are into Web Design, and the sub-culture of many designers and developers in the field, a great place to learn, find good links, and enjoy the atmosphere is Camworld. Cameron Barrett gets kudos for creating a bulletin board-type list, and expanding it into a blog. He really understands the community thing, and how to use the web to create, propagate, and increase communication.
