The Joy! The Hope! The Challenge!

My business associates have been notified: Monday is a major religious holiday for me. I take the day off as a ìpersonal day.î I go with my most loved one and significant other to The Shrine. We join with roughly 50-some thousand other members of the flock, in the ritual and the celebration.

A flag is raised.

The heroics of those who carry the torch met with cheers and huzzahs.

And the new campaign begins, the effort continues, in an annual, seasonal celebration.

We are the Champions, sung by one and all.

There will be applause. There will be elders, heroes of the past.

New faces and some changes will be apparent, although the basics are as ever, the goal always the same.

Opening Day at Yankee Stadium.

Amen.

Here's a picture of Susan and me there, three years ago, during another Championship season. And, in keeping with the day, there's new content on my other blog, Dean On Baseball.

Here we are, enjoying another winning effort, courtesy of our favorite group of players, the once and future World Champions, the beloved New York Yankees.
