AND THE "W" STANDS FOR . . .

AND THE "W" STANDS FOR . . .

It stands for "What a crock of shit!"
Dubya's State of The Union was a complete letdown. The same old same old. He even had the temerity to speak of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Remember that canard from last year? There are none, they were dismantled and the program to create them was dropped. But Dubya is still praising his sending soldiers to their death in the name of those non-existent WMDs.

The guy can't even come up with a new twist. Just the same pack of self-serving lies he told last year. But in the year that's past, much has come home to haunt him. But he claims a victory in the war on terror. He seems unaware that the major terrorist groups are very patient, very plotting and specific in their planned attacks.

The September 11th attack was not dreamed up a mere few days before it happened. Dubya would like the nation to think that his imperial foray into Iraq has somehow calmed the threat. He overlooks the fact that he has galvanized the Muslim world into concentration on a single and common enemy: The Great Satan. And who is the leader of this Great Satan? That old bipartisan uniter that ran and lost against Al Gore, none other than Dubya.

Who manages to lie to the nation as though he is victorious, as though he has steered the economy in a strong direction, and as though there is no deficit and joblessness and a vast segment of the population so lacking in health care or with earnings barely sufficient enough to keep them above the poverty line . . .the like of which the country hasn't seen since the days of the Great Depression.

And then he has the unmitigated gall to claim that "we showed them" (whomever "them" might be), and that America's word is good.

Good for what? Lying about WMDs? Lying to the UN about what's going on in places we choose to invade for our own gain?

Is that really how others around the planet feel? Obviously that moron in the White House has not seen this video, or bothered to read the Intelligence updates on how the citizenry in other places feels about America under the rule of Dubya.

He was not elected, he was appointed by The Supremes. There was no mandate.

His "Patriot Act" is designed to restrict freedoms and remove freedoms. All, of course, in the name of protecting America. He seems to forget that once one freedom is taken, all others are then fair game.

But why should that bother Dubya? He's making big bucks, as are his cronies. They're assuring their futures, their domination to the best of their efforts. What's a few hundred dead soldiers? What's a bunch of uninsured, uncovered, under-earning or non-earning citizens? Just an annoyance.

And hey, he'll bring in Mexicans to do the work that he considers to be beneath that of Americans. Wow, what an open-minded and creative-thinking guy!

Joblessness is at an all time high under his watch. And this guy wants to send Americans to Mars? Think of the investment required!

That money could be spent on a Nationalized Health Care program. Think of the sick, of those struggling to make ends meet, of those worried about where their next meal, rent check, or money for medication will come from.

Yeah, sure, go to Mars. And keep spending countless dollars in Iraq, where over 500 American soldiers have died thus far. More soldiers have died since the "victorious end of the war" was announced than did during the "period of American aggression."
Yeah, what a victory. For Halliburton and the like.

What a loss for the families and friends of the soldiers now dead. What a burden for the soldiers maimed or harmed for life, who are treated like second class citizens by Bush's Defense Department and related agencies.

The economy is in dire shape. The country is waging a war (yeah, sure its over, yet there are daily acts of military and/or guerilla antagonism) and occupation in Iraq. And over in Afghanistan there is a build up of anti-American forces, and alternative news sources report that The Taliban has been retrenching. And there are acts of violence against American and Coalition soldiers there, as well.

Why didn't Dubya just tell it like it is: "We go into places oin a warring manner with no endgame in sight, ar actually planned. We take over their resources and claim it is so we can get them thayt good old American-style Democracy. We even tell them where, when and how they can have their free votes according to our rules. Why, that's like having a bar-b-que and inviting your neighbors and sharing the recipe for your sauce with them. And then they have to use your sauce forever, or we'll attack 'em again! Yee-hah! Sure is fun to be President!"
Or he might have just said, "Heil, Halliburton!!!!"
