EGADS, IT IS ALREADY JUNE, 2001!!!!!

Weblog Topics & Subjects in various states of contemplation or completion on the drawing board:

1. Finishing up the ìtv and movies when I was a kidî essay (began it on April 18th). I'll finish it yet, that's a solemn promise.

ATTACK OF THE POLLEN MONSTER!

ATTACK OF THE POLLEN MONSTER!

WOE IS ME (but then againÖ.)

Allergies (see below) are killing me. I ended up with a throat infection and could barely speak. Those who know me well realize how much this impedes my total lifestyle. The humidity magnifies my knee problems. Grabbing a cab from lower Manhattan somehow seems more difficult lately.

HACHOO!

Almost Back!

Almost Back!

Not quite back yet, but a few short notes.

1. If you found this page via a click-over referral, you should probably scroll down to the next item. It is longer, and much more in keeping with the way this blog operates.

2. Do you want Verizon, Southern Bell, Pacific Bell, Qwest, and other such Baby Bell monoliths getting in cahoots with the U.S. Congress ...

Suspended Bloggitude

Suspended Bloggitude

Or should that be Suspended Blogimation? Suspended Blog-a-rhythm? Blogwriter's Cramp, or Blogger's Block?

This Blog has been suffering lately from stunted growth.

I promise, I really do, to update the blog in the extremely near future. Busy, busy, busy, barely enough time in a day, a week, a month. And here it is May, already.

Ramblings

...Ramblings

Old Movies and Early TV

When I was a kid, growing up in New York City, the television landscape was a rather different vista than the fare available at this time. There were the three major networks, of course, with headquarters in the city, and each had (and still does) a flagship station right here.

A Good Influence

A Good Influence

I finally feel like a good influence. The pride, the joy.

Before I launch into my "GOOD INFLUENCE" tale, here's why it feels so good. A real and true story of childhood events in the suburban outer boroughs of New York City.

For years, as a brash, fearless, and generally go-with-the-flow kid, I heard various friends' parents refer to me as a "bad influence." On one hand, oh the shame, the sorrow.

An end to the Quiet

An end to the Quiet

It sure has been quiet in these parts of late. Why? Many reasons, that's why.

First there was Opening Day, the beginning of the Baseball Season, and a lot of attention being paid to Baseball. Sooner or later I will finally post my nearly-completed essay on Opening Day At Yankee Stadium...but not here. That will come to life at the other blog.

The Joy! The Hope! The Challenge!

Hallelulah!

The Joy! The Hope! The Challenge!

My business associates have been notified: Monday is a major religious holiday for me. I take the day off as a ìpersonal day.î I go with my most loved one and significant other to The Shrine. We join with roughly 50-some thousand other members of the flock, in the ritual and the celebration.

A flag is raised.

The heroics of those who carry the torch met with cheers and huzzahs.

Citibank: Caught Sleeping!

Citibank: Caught Sleeping!

Back when they used this logo, Citibank was a leading edge institution.

Citibank: the Clueless Institution. Now that they've adopted this logo, which is supposed to represent its merger with Traveler's Group (get it, the umbrella over Citi?) they are less leading edge than they used to be.</p />

Scheming, The Redmond Monarchy, and DSL

Scheming, The Redmond Monarchy, and DSL

Isnít ìSchemeî an interesting word? If one is ìscheming,î that casts a nefarious light on that person. People who ìschemeî are thought to be in evil cahoots, most likely up to no-good. And yet, a schematic diagram is a necessary element to certain repairs and constructions.

Schema, in the Thesaurus bundled into MS Word, can be a synonym for plan, diagram, scheme, or representation. And used in the singular, no less.
