A quick check of my referer page for this blog reveals an interesting little fact. If you type deregulation reagonomics into the Google search box, this blog is the very first hit to show.

Oh, great.

9/11 Superstition

9/11 Superstition

Echoes of September 11 are still resounding. The effects are eerie, and yet some may even take some wry humor in this one related event, in my own personal life.

I'd just bought a CD on eBay (will the RIAA's next move be an attempt to make that somehow illegal or impossible?) and the payment options were few, so I decided to send a check, wait until it clears, and then let the seller send it to me.

The Airplane That Gave Me Pneumonia

The Airplane That Gave Me Pneumonia

About ten times throughout my life I've had the misfortune of suffering from Pneumonia. All kinds of Pneumonia: Viral, Bacterial, Mycoplasmic, you name it. The only kind I haven't had is the one that AIDS patients tend to get. Oddds are pretty good I won't be getting that one.

As an infant and again as a toddler it hit me. According to my mother, both times were pretty scary.

Black Tuesday Afterthoughts

Black Tuesday Afterthoughts

The events of September 11 continue to resonate in the lives of everyday New Yorkers (as well as the people from the flights and the Pentagon). Summer solstice just passed; it is only a little more than three months until the one-year mark will arrive.

I do some traveling, a little in my work, and in my personal life I make numerous trips to where my children live, and other places.

Various Points of Note

Various Points of Note

Here it is, the seventeenth of June. My parents' 57th anniversary. We celebrated this event and Father's Day yesterday with a brunch at one of our favorite haunts in the city. Very nice.

In 13 days it will be first of July, the beginning of the second half of this year. Flies by real quickly, eh?

In two days I go to Chicago for the day. On business. Three meetings set, and so busy that I fly back the same night.

Thanks, Doc!

THANKS, DOC!

In a piece in his blog the other day, Doc takes AT&T to task for their invasive, obnoxious telemarketing campaign.

CENTRAL PARK

CENTRAL PARK

Gee, so long since a blog entry. Even got a few e-mails asking about the seeming silence. No, nothing's amiss. Just busy, and not able to focus on the blog of late. There are a few entries-in-progress in my "Blogress" folder, in various states of "not quite ready to post."
Hmmm. Blogress.

OPENING DAY!!!

Talk is cheap, life is precious

On my other blog, DeanLand: The Radio Weblog, there's the beginning of a Discussion Group, or at this moment at least some discussion pointers, regarding Anti-Semitism, The Middle East Conflict, and other such topics.

SEEING THE LIGHT

SEEING THE LIGHT

In the entry prior to this I promised to blog about an interesting visual event, one I experienced two weeks ago, on my birthday. A few notes, first.

I had a quiet birthday. Worked most of the day, felt a little tired, didn't realize it was a precurser to a slight bout of Diabetes-related-Anemia coming on. Was surprised as I left for the day to find a GIGANTIC birthday card from my cohorts. A huge card, in the shape of a pickle.
