BUSY ME

BUSY ME

Yes, it has been over a week since a new post appeared on DeanLand. Busy, busy, busy. And no posts just for the sake of posting. Or, as a friend mentioned two nights ago, no posts about what I had for lunch. The only reason the topic of what I ate for lunch so rarely makes it to this space is that it just doesn't usually strike me as though details of my lunch is something anyone would want to read.

If I'd been to an intersting restaurant, or had some particularly interesting meal, maybe that would make a worthy entry.

A SUMMER BEARD

A SUMMER BEARD

Regular readers of this blog may recall that for what seemed like all of May, some of April and some of June, I had the cold that seemed like it would never go away. It took what felt like forever, but finally it stopped ravaging my faculties.

For the longest time I was too sick to bother even considering if I should shave. That lasted long enough for a beard to begin, as opposed to just a few days of scraggly accumulation.

SUMMER RAIN

SUMMER RAIN

Among the most vivid of childhood memories, growing up in the suburbs in New York, is the Summer rain.

One Summer, when I was three or perhaps four years old, it rained day after day, or so it seemed, for many weeks through the Summer. It must have been a particularly stormy July, and it made quite an impression on me.

My sisters were away at Girl Scout camp, so it was just me in the house. When it rained, pouring down sheets of Summer storms, I would stare out the window and watch the effects of the rain.
