The Annual December Trip

Welcome Back, Kevin!

Welcome Back, Kevin!

Kevin Mitnick, among the most notorious of hackers, is finally allowed back to the ìrightful homeî from which he was banished as a part of both his conviction and the grounds for his release.

HOLIDAY BLOG SLOWDOWN

Holiday Blog Slowdown

As it says in the item just below, I am off on a holiday trip, and will be away until almost the New Year. Blogging will be a little sporadic, at best. Possibly none at all, depending on the laptop and motivation situations.

EXTENDED HANUKKAH

Today I am off to the south. A visit with the kids, then we pile into the car and head to Florida to spend some time with their grandparents. Weíll see some movies, check out some restaurants, and generally have a good old time.

15 Days To Go

15 Days To Go

In 15 days the year will come to an end. What a year it has been speeding by faster than any previous year, or so it seemed earlier this month. Now we are down to two weeks and counting.

This Op-Ed piece by Fay Vincent appeared in the Monday, December 16, 2002 NY Times as a guest editorial. The Times, in some sort of maniacal, protective, paranoid, money-grubbing strategy, feels it should charge the readers for old articles. Yes, the fishwrapper tariff. So just in case some one wants to read this after The Times no longer deems it worthy of reading for free, here it is.

Another Year Winds Down

Another Year Winds Down

As the days slip away toward December 31stIt is already upon us: planning for that final period of the year, the end of the holiday season.

One More Night

ONE MORE NIGHT

...just one more night to go. This is the seventh night of Hanukkah. One more night to go. In many households this means the BIG DEAL presents come after the lighting of the candles tomorrow evening. Eight days of gift-giving (it would be much less comercial if this holiday was celebrated in August), capped off by the big, final night!

A while back we discussed those Canadians going to pot. Forget it. The Montreal Expos just let bullpen catcher Carlos Luis Perez go, after he plead guilty to charges of possession of 1.1 pounds (a half-kilo, is that some Canadian Imperial weight?) of marijuana.

Rambling Blog

Rambling Blog

Allow me to roam all over the blogeteria in this post-Turkey-weekend post.

... remember, forks on the left, knives on the right. This turkey knows fine etiquette, as we can see. Imagine what it would be like for the humans if turkeys had discovered America. Would Peter Minueturkey have bought the island of Manhattan? And for what, $24 worth of turkey feed?
