WorldCom goes bankrupt, but not until after exposure of oodles of corporate waste, internal hijinx, and greed. As the stock value was plummeting and debt was rising, WorldCom execs are cashing out to the tune of seven figure stock sales.

Qwest, the company that makes Global Crossing and WorldCom seem like altar boys, is under Federal investigation by the Justice Department for criminal wrongdoings.

9/11 Superstition

Echoes of September 11 are still resounding. The effects are eerie, and yet some may even take some wry humor in this one related event, in my own personal life.

I'd just bought a CD on eBay (will the RIAA's next move be an attempt to make that somehow illegal or impossible?) and the payment options were few, so I decided to send a check, wait until it clears, and then let the seller send it to me.

About ten times throughout my life I've had the misfortune of suffering from Pneumonia. All kinds of Pneumonia: Viral, Bacterial, Mycoplasmic, you name it. The only kind I haven't had is the one that AIDS patients tend to get. Oddds are pretty good I won't be getting that one.

As an infant and again as a toddler it hit me. According to my mother, both times were pretty scary.
