Yankee Cap Back on my head

Loyal and patient readers of this space will recall that after losing a friendly wager over the outcome of the World Series, my making good on it meant wearing NO YANKEE CLOTHES OR PARAPHERNALIA for a month.

The month is over. Whew!

The Yankee cap is back on. The Yankee warm-up jacket is back on the coat rack (but we are enjoying June weather at this December moment, so not even a windbreaker was called for today!), the Yankee socks, all sorts of goodies.

It looks like me again in the mirror. That's a relief, particularly since I wasn't recognizing the guy in the Leave It To Beaver cap, or the grey beret, or the TRA baseball cap.

Although tending and feeding this blog wasn't part of the wager, for a variety of reasons (mostly work and some dental issues) there just hasn't been time available to properly post the many topics and areas of discussion that would usually find this space.

I did manage to create a teeny weeny little private discussion group va an e-mail sent to a selective group of thinkers and ponderers. Once I get permissions, I may just post the original e-mail, and the various responses. A wide variety of opinions and observations were offered, and the breadth of opinion, conversation, and contemplation were interesting, and very rewarding to me as a result of my little request for reaction to an Op-Ed piece from the NY Times.

There are a bunch of barely begun blog essays, some never-ending longer pieces, and a good many dribs and drabs of thought or quotes about items I should post here, if I ever get the time.

Right now I am at a computer in an office that will soon be hosting a holiday party. Should be a pleasant time. Maybe I should do some work, come to think of it.

In the words of Maria Shriver's husband, "I'll be back!"
More coming, soon enough. Thanks for so many hits, people checking in while I was on "lose the World Series // stop wearing Yankee garb" sabbatical.
