Picture This!

They ought to rename the URL "A Thousand Words." This site does a random search of pictures on the internet. It could hit
YOUR pics on your site. I don't know why I find this site fascinating, but it seems like an Americana panorama (say that 10 times fast), a history of REAL people's interests. Keep reloading it - kinda amazing what people put out
there! One could wear out the F5 key when visiting that site!

Excellent League of Liberals Member Post

Want to see the real truth on how Jeb Bush governs Florida? Take a look at this post on the SavageCruelBigot blog. I found this blog while perusing through blogs and links to blog entries by members of The League of Liberals. I am a member of this group, although my reluctance to work through what strikes me as some required geekitude or geek-ability has me wondering if I should become an auxiliary member, as opposed to a full-fledged member of The League. Or, if need be, I will opt out, all the while supporting the overall concept of The League.

Although my politics tend to be Neo-Liberal with a strong Libertarian position, I am troubled by the use of any general term. These terms may be intended to be descriptive, and purely so. But the associations and prejudices that follow make it difficult to find comfort in these camps.

Ho, Ho, Ho! Give Us Health Benefits!

Hey,is that middle Santa giving us the finger? Oh, excuse me, that's a bell he's ringing. This photo appeared on the Front Page of the NY Daily News on Saturday ,Nov. 29, 2003. Photo credit goes to Daily News fotog David Handschuh. Great shot, what one always expects from the Daily News!

At first glance this picture looked like just one of many labor actions with a street demonstration, the sort of thing one might see in NYC on any given day. Then I noted those elves or whatever they are in the blue suits in the back. Aliens? Elves? Sprites? Bees of some sort?

A second look and also bothering to read the caption subtest below the photo revealed that it was a bunch of Santas from the Volunteers of America making their first trip to this yearís posts.

I figured with Der Bushmeister in office, perhaps the Santas were ready to demand a health care package. Frankly, I like my story better.

Photo credit goes to Daily News fotog David Handschuh. Nice shot he got, kudos to him!
